CGM Precast Concrete began in the 1980's in Florida, as CGM Manufacturing, Inc. The original company cast some architectural products, but mostly products for the telephony industry, such as equipment mounting pads for telephone cabinets, and flush-to-grade vaults to enclose batteries for back-up. In 1998, CGM moved to Indianapolis to be more centrally located and to accommodate the forecasted growth. The Indianapolis plant has been remodeled, automated with state-of-the-art batching equipment, and expanded as we continue to grow. We became known as CGM Precast Concrete and obtained certification as a Women's Business Enterprise, in the state of Indiana, in 2005. Our patented flush-to-grade utility vaults have been installed in New York City, allowing cross connect equipment to be in the needed downtown areas, right in the sidewalks.
We have provided hundreds of equipment mounting pads to Windstream Communications, Inc. (previously known as Alltel Communications, Inc.), Verizon (previously known as GTE), and many other telephone companies and our pads are designed to fit cabinets from many vendors, such as Calix, Emerson Network Products (previously known as Marconi Communications), 3M, AT&T, and many more.
With the acquisition of hundreds of forms from Schuster Building Materials in 2003, we began casting architectural and structural precast products. We have provided custom precast products for several new big box stores, as well as smaller construction projects. We gladly customize with reinforcement as specified, as well as inserts, lifting hardware or extending embeds with a choice of several options of concrete strengths.
We are members in good standing with the National Precast Concrete Association, have obtained NPCA Plant Certification status (recognizing high standards of production and quality control) and have incorporated Purdue University's Technical Assistance Program on many projects.
